Once upon a time, much like today, the North Side Neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was home to vibrant community of first generation immigrants and their families, all in search of the American Dream. The story of the North Side Jewish community in the early 20th Century is not so different from the story of the Russian, Somali, Latino and Asian communities that are taking root there today in the early 21st Century. This is a portrait of a much-loved dynamic and close-knit community, working hard to assimilate, while preserving a collective Jewish identity in a city once termed, “The Capital of of Anti-Semitism in the United States.”
